Ayşe Eylül Sönmez

Ayşe Eylül Sönmez was born in Ankara. In 2007 she graduated from Anadolu vocational high school in Ankara Olgunlaşma Institute. She was ranked first in the Fashion Design department and she was ranked second in school. In 2011, she graduated in Fashion Design Teaching department from the Vocational Education faculty of Gazi University and her name was on the honor list. In 2018, she got her degree as a master of Art Education from Educational Sciences Institute of Gazi University.

Futhermore, she took watercolor painting classes from Yurdagül Döl, Fikriye Atik Güneş and Orhan Gürel. She learned Korean calligraphy and the Far-East painting for four years from Ae Hee Kang at the Korean Cultural Center in Ankara. Her paintings are exhibited internationally and nationally in many exhibition rooms and workshops. She used to work as a lecturer for Hacettepe University in two years. She was also an instructor at the Altindağ Public Education Center for several semesters. She was an instructor for beginner level of watercolor and drawing classes for undergraduate and postgraduate students and her classes were also a collaboration with the Presidency For Turks Abroad And Related Communities. At the end each semester, she opened an exhibition room with all the works done by her students. From time to time, with many paintings and drawings of students who participated in her workshop, she opened many exhibitions. She is a member of the International Watercolor Society – IWS and GESAM. Now she works in her workshop at Hamamönü Art Street.
